AIGA: Get Out the Vote 2016
The Ask:
Leverage the power of design to motivate more people to vote in the 2016 election for the "Get Out the Vote" initiative by AIGA.
The Solution:
Instead of telling people to vote, we surfaced how many don’t.
The Posters
Depending on how you read the poster, it can be interpreted in one of two ways. A bold accusation highlighting the underrepresentation of women, immigrants, Asians, Blacks, Philadelphians, etc. in our electoral system. Or an equally bold command to not participate since so many don’t already. Either way, it evoked some strong reactions.
Our posters were shown at the DNC in Philadelphia and can be viewed online, but Shane Walsh & I took the extra step and wheat pasted our series around the Convention Center just in time for the DNC. They proved to be quite provoking — many were scratched out and ripped up.
